This definitely affects SL economy in decreasing sales. Those who use PPRS are probably not willing to put more own money in to the system, which is what LL wants with this act! |

The bigger issue is that it is a cop-out because LL doesn't want to fix their search. They are under the assumption that their search is working just fine, but being tied to the number of Avatars on the sim is silly. Learn from Google and make search relevant and not dependent on the number of Avatars on the sim. What's next banning parties if they are on the same sim as a mall, because well the club playing the music is just 'gaming' the numbers for the mall. Fix the problems with your sim, and stop trying to 'fix' the SL economy. It will take care of itself if you stop trying to stifle innovation. |

Linden Labs is destroying all possibilities of success for its merchants -- that is, unless they are one of those merchants ALLEGEDLY paying $1000 USD per week plus on classifieds to LL. I still have serious doubts about anyone making so much money on SL that they can afford thousands of dollars for a classified and the IRS not going after them.
When is enough ENOUGH? It never fails, the moment I spend 1000L + on some mechanism to stay competitive with the other merchants in the all search, they ban that mechanism. What a racket SL and LL is! SHAME ON LL! |

Umm, folks, LL is a commercial company: they want to make real cash. Giving away free L$ creates SL economy, yes, which encourages premium accounts. But that economy puts additional burden on LL's servers. All those free-account avs bogs down the servers. What LL may be trying to do is balance the free money economy with the burden on the LL servers. If LL can encourage enough premium accounts, the loss of the SL accounts who don't want to pay will be reflected in reduced cost of operating SL (fewer servers b/c fewer free avs soaking up the CPU horsepower). Of course, if LL gets too stingy, SL will die since the premium accounts will trade only with each other. |

I'm afraid that's what it is in the long run; reduce the # of free basic accounts to cater to premium memberships. As a source of income for a large segment of newer accounts were deprived of camping for a few L's, so goes the way eliminating picks rewards. I myself am an occasional recipient of the picks rewards, but it is small-time money at best. I HAVE explored and shopped in new areas, drawn there by initially a merchant's pprs system. Even when a particular pprs system was taken down, I returned to that sim for other reasons, and was sad to find it gone, but will always remember what initially drew me there. Good Job LL? ->NOT! They are cutting off part of the economy. And many of these pprs recipients did/will grow to be merchants and content creators themselves someday. |

from what i see LL isnt trying to take the fun out of things what they want is for people to start putting more money into the game... people are willing to go and buy 60 wii games but they wont bother to put into this game... no yes LL is getting greedy shutting down everyone that is actually making any money first went the GAMBLING now PPRS what next people being able to sell clothing or things they make... many people depend on the money they make from PPRS system just to get by just to pay rent or tier or premium fees if you dont stop taking away everything from people ability to make money in sl then it wont just be us residents broke it will be you as well people will completely quit look at how many other game servers that went under cause people stopped playing... thats what your about to create here people stop playing cause you keep taking our abilities away and our dignity... |

6 yrs in SL and i have seen many ways to make cash leave SL seams in less u can create clothes or build you are lost soul PPRS makes it easyer for players to at least make a little cash so they can spend on the clothes and other things in SL I will not leave BUT I will have to watch see how this goes ... |

i myself will leave SL permanently if this happens and i am a premium acct. The pprs system replaced camping as the defacto method of earning money. I do not see anything on the horizon to replace it, no money to put into sl so if i cant perform a business transaction (which is what pprs is, an owner pays an avatar for a service) then bye bye sl |

well what i see is LL issues with the PPRS is just the FALSE TRAFFIC FORCED RATING issue so if the part where the owners of the PPRS cant force people to stay and wait for the money the 3 or 5 or 10 or 15 min to get paid then the issues LL has with the PPRS would go away... so change that part of the system and it would comply with the TOS.... |

The PPRS system pays avatars to advertise peoples places in there profile picks, same as buying advertising in a magazine or something. They effectively banned camping so reducing an avatars income level. I know I do not spend as much as I used to. To remove the pprs means that a lot of people who do not have the means to "pay" for SL will leave to other systems where is is not such a problem. Linden need to offer a solution to allow the "Free" lifestyle they promote on there web site. |
